Overview

The Isla Santa Catalina Desert Iguana is an insular endemic found only on Isla Santa Catalina located in the Municipality of Loreto in the Gulf of California. This island is 16 miles (25 km) from the Baja California peninsula and its herpetofauna is nearly entirely endemic. Little is known about the distribution of this species on the island, which is 8 miles (13 km) long.
