The African Clawed Frog is native to South Africa, but has been introduced into a number of areas within the United States, including California, Colorado, Florida, Nevada, Arizona, New Mexico, North Carolina, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Wisconsin, and Wyoming. Within the Atlas region, this species has established populations in Orange and San Diego counties, and the Municipality of Ensenada.
