The Colorado Desert Fringe-toed Lizard is found in the low elevation deserts of southern California and northeastern Baja California. This species occurs predominately in the deserts of the greater Imperial Valley from Borrego Springs in San Diego County to the Sierra Las Pintas in Baja California. In southern California it extends east to the Colorado River, but in Baja California it is only known from west of the Sierra Cucapá and El Mayor.
