Piebald Chuckwalla
ORDER: SQUAMATA | FAMILY: IGUANIDAE
TheĀ Piebald Chuckwalla is an insular endemic found only on Isla San Esteban, Sonora, but is believed to have been introduced onto Isla Roca Lobos. Technically, this species should be regarded as an introduced species within the Atlas region. Due to the close proximity of Isla San Esteban to the Atlas boundaries and our future plans to expand the Atlas to include more Gulf of California islands we have not included it in our list of introduced species (similar to the Spiny Chuckwalla, which has been introduced to islands within the Atlas boundaries).
