Variable Sandsnake
ORDER: SQUAMATA | FAMILY: COLUBRIDAE
The Variable Sandsnake occurs in two disjunct ranges on either side of the Gulf of California. On the east side of the Gulf, this species occurs from western Sonora to central Arizona. Within the Atlas region, it occurs from Valle La Trinidad to Cabo San Lucas. The Variable Sand Snake is also found on Islas Cedros, Santa Margarita, and Magdalena in the Pacific Ocean and Islas Carmen, Danzante, Espíritu Santo, Monserrat, Partida Sur, San José, and San Marcos in the Gulf of California.
