Checkered Gartersnake

The Checkered Gartersnake occurs across western North America from Kansas to central Mexico and westward to southeastern California and northeastern Baja California. Within the Atlas region, this species appears to be associated with the Colorado River basin in Riverside and Imperial counties and Baja California. It also occurs in the Imperial Valley and southern Coachella Valley and is closely associated agriculture.
