The Orange-throated Whiptail is found from Colton, San Bernardino County to Cabo San Lucas, Baja California Sur. Within the Atlas region, it can be found in the lower elevations of Orange County, western Riverside and San Diego counties, western northern Baja California, southward to the Cape Region of Baja California Sur. This species occurs on Island Magdalena and Santa Margarita in the Pacific Ocean and Islas San Marcos and Coronados in the Gulf of California.
