Pseudacris regilla

Pacific Treefrog
ORDER: ANURA | FAMILY: HYLIDAE

Overview

The Pacific Treefrog is found across much of western North America from southeastern Alaska to the tip of Baja California peninsula. Within the Atlas region, this species occurs throughout the coastal and mountain regions and in ioslated sections of the desert as it is limited to wet environments. While present throughout much of the Baja California peninsula, it is confined to isolated populations associated with springs, oases, and mountain drainages. It is also found on Islas Cedros and Natividad in the Pacific Ocean. While a recent taxonomic work split the Pacific Treefrog into three species, it is difficult to apply the proposed taxonomy due to poor sampling coverage and irregularities in their mtDNA data.
