Red-spotted Toad

The Red-spotted Toad is found throughout the more arid regions of North America, from Texas to California, and southward into central Mexico. Within the Atlas region, its distribution closely follows the desert provinces in California and Baja California. This species is also found on Isla Santa Margarita in the Pacific Ocean and Islas Carmen, Cerralvo, Espíritu Santo, and Partida Sur. This species is one of the few amphibians to inhabit islands in the Gulf of California.
