Gila Monster
ORDER: SQUAMATA | FAMILY: HELODERMATIDAE
The Gila Monster is found from extreme southeast Utah, United States to northern Sinaloa, Mexico. In the Atlas region, this species is found in Imperial County, California. Better documentation is needed, but credible reports of the Gila Monster from Black Mountain in the southern Chocolate Mountains confirms its presence in the Atlas area.
